Description

  • Correct way of going down with the ball in a tackle.
  • Person being tackled should 'twist' their body so that they land on their back.

Coaching Points

Your body is a series of points and patches. Points are the “pointy parts” e.g. elbow, knee, hand, foot and Patches are the bigger softer parts e.g. belly, bum & back. When being tackled try to land on the patches eg bum & back. Think of a parachute roll – “Knees, bum, back”

What you say:
What a fantastic tool. I've found a few drills that are unfamiliar, but that's to be expected after playing for 27 years. The Chalk Board and Session tools make an unbelievable difference in both time and organization.
