4. Some points on line outs

• The line out can be very flexible. It can vary from:
- a 1 player unopposed line out for beginners
- 2/3 players unopposed
- to a full 7-player line out with lifting for adults but only if they have been appropriately trained.
All these are great ways of restarting the game.
• Do not impose the line out before the players are ready. They must be proficient at running, passing and
catching first.
• Make sure every player experiences playing in every role.
• In the early stages, be prepared for the organisation of a line out to take some time.
